Why this mission?
Your mission isn't simply a chance to do something for others or an effort to change the world.
It is a reflection of you. If you give it the energy it deserves, it is probably destined to become an integral part of your life.
You will get up thinking about it. You will go to bed doing the same. Most of the time in between won't be any different.
The effort will likely cause you to run the full gamut of emotions. It may bring you great joy and excitement. But it's just as likely to make you depressed as well when you struggle or things don't work out as you want.
Those parts of you that you don't like to see or show will probably come out as well -- much too often. And they may leave you shaking your head, wondering if you're up to the task.
It can take you away from family so you grow apart, or drag them in so deeply you never get a break from each other.
In short, your mission is a tool that your soul uses, not only to contribute to the greater reality that affects those around you and the world, but also to create the experiences it needs.
Those needs -- and how you meet the situations that arise -- will greatly determine the success or failure of your mission. For its ultimate purpose has very little to do with the outer world. Rather, it is for you to better know yourself and to evolve into more than you are now.
Try not to get too caught up in the dramas it generates. Then again, those will be your dramas, created for your consumption into which you will dive headlong for the experience that comes only from full immersion.
Do so with eyes open and full awareness of all it brings and how you're processing it inside.
After all, your mission is there to serve you, even as you try to serve the world.
